Link a personal macro to the Excel ribbon
In Excel 2010 and higher you can customize the ribbon, adding buttons to run your personal macros.
Select File on the ribbon. Select Options and then Customize Ribbon.
Click on the New tab button.
A tab will be added called “New Tab (Custom)” and a group called “New Group (Custom)”.
Select the tab and then click on the Rename button.
Rename the display name for the tab and then click on the OK button.
Select the group and then click on the Rename button.
Rename the display name for the group and then click on the OK button.
On the Choose commands from drop down menu select Macros.
Select one of the macros stored in your personal workbook.
Click on the Add button.
Select the macro that you have added and then click on the Rename button. Rename the display name for the macro, assign an icon and then click on the OK button.
Click on the OK button.
A new tab will be added to the Ribbon with an icon to run your personal macro.
In Windows 7, 8 and 10 the personal workbook is located in: C:\Users'username’\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
